August 2023 Field Day
This year's field day was all about the WEEDS. The great thing about a Flickner Innovation Farm field day is the opportunity to see technologies and strategies in-person. This field day encouraged our participants to get up close to several pieces of large farm machinery just emerging for weed control. Aside from in-field demonstrations, the group was able to hear more about several programs, including NASA Acres, Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategies (WRAPS), and more.
Participants learned about the See and Spray Ultimate, the Weed-Seed Destroyer, Row Shaver, and Weedbot technologies.
Groups rotated to learn about several national studies about cover crop management.
The soil pit is always a hit! Experts demonstrated how soil health on the farm has been changing for the better.
