As a kick off to this five-part training series highlighting the ways in which K-State researchers and extension specialists are tackling important water issues, Day 1 provided foundational knowledge on the condition and management of water resources in Kansas. Panelists from the Kansas Department of Agriculture – Division of Water Resources, Kansas Water Office, Kansas Geological Survey, and Groundwater Management Districts shared information related to water appropriation, groundwater conditions and trends, water right administration and conservation tools, local conservation efforts, and a legislative update.
